Located near U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, this retail store made a grand opening on Nov 2011. With the area of 12.000 square feet, this store made by a collaboration with Buffalo, N.Y. and Chicago White Sox as project designer and interior architect. The general contractor was McHugh Construction that was based in Chicago.

Chicago Sports Depot Shop Front Design

Some decorative elements were placed here. Large wall graphics of former and current star players, reproductions of newspaper to create an atmosphere of excitement of the former championships. 75 video monitors are used as a promotional media to display the products and a media to play the related sport video.

The floor is made of a combination of concrete and epoxy to create a glossy finish so it may be durable and gives an easy maintenance. While the store's corridor seems clean and spacious, the products displayed are stored in shelves that look blend into the walls. Design in unity. Unique spot found in the wall that has small boxes that resembling the shape of letter 'a'. They are made to display products such as Tom Ford, D&G and YSL.

As you enter the building, two big elevators and large columns are welcoming you to discover the giant store. High ceiling designed for the entrance. While for other floors the ceiling seems a bit low, trying to focus on the products displayed. As promotional tools, around 300 are placed on the columns and walls, displaying the products and new arrivals.

The use of lime green color on areas that resemble the fins are arranged neatly on most walls and ceiling with lights behind the background are so attractive, in contrast blending with the with the colors of the fixtures and other interior parts that tend to be reddish brown. Wow, what's this? A three floors space in dew departement, Moscow, that serves as restaurant and fast food retailers has an amazing and eyecatching ceiling concept.

High ceilings, made of stainless mirror panels are shaped and arranged in such a way that displays a bumpy surface section. Unique design. Assisted by indirect lighting that leads upwards, the panel shows and reflects the surrounding landscape in a strange way. It is the bumpy surface section of the panel that provides a unique reflection and gives the impression that we are under water.

L'Eto Caffe', is a prototype of a mixed used concept cafe, restaurant and bakery that is designed by Ivan Cipriani Associati for London. First, let's look from the side of the shop fronts.L'Eto Caffe' can be seen directly from the street, although limited by 1/2 glass and 1/2 massive partition. From there the food preparation work can be seen clearly. A unique way to attract hungry visitors.

On inside, the cafe interior looks more attractive. The use of dynamic flow on the ceiling lights will attract visitor's attention, while the wood grain finish on bars and counters as well as some seating area displaying a unique blend and warm atmosphere. Now take a look at the placement of the colorful foods on the serving counter. They add a colorful look to the duo-tone-like interior.

A simple tea shop located on a small house unit with the area of 90 square meter in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Designed by Alan Chu, the coffee shops came from a renovation of an existing building. The existing walls was stripped, exposing brick texture of the wall.

Provision of white color on the walls and ceilings reinforce the various colored products and the serving counter. The texture of the serving boxes are colorful so prominent among the existing plain color.

The Gourmet Tea logo lit by white neon tubes on the interior give its own accent on the wall. While the exterior logos of Gourmet Tea - in-box- look simple, although rather small and lack visibility from a distance.

Precint 5, a clothing store based in an old former police station, located at Singel 459, Amsterdam. The finishing quite plain and simple, without any further details.

On the top floor, a high triangle shaped ceiling exposing its structures. And look at the hanging stairs, they give a certain sensation to the customers. The combination of natural lights from the existing windows combined with artificial lights are very helpful and give the store a fairly bright general lightning.

Express, a clothing store with an area of 13,000 square foot, located in Pennsylvania, King Mall of Prusia. Looks elegant is it not?

However, although it's located in a mall, the store actually aim at the street level retail business. The dominant of dark color on the exterior combined with the glowy logo. Simple and minimalist.

Although having the same ideo about being simple and minimalist, the interior shares a much more interesting details. Cladding in black and natural finishing. Light and dark. The details on the ceiling, bars of plane ceiling arranged between the spotlights and creating a warm atmosphere. Supporting the ceiling, the color of wooden floor also supporting the warm impression from the lights.

Another yogurt store, here i come.... Flavaboom, Manhattan, designed by Dune. Impression gained is simple, clean, pop. White is dominating the interior of this store. Combined with pink and purple, it's enough to set them in the frozen colors.

Window frames with mirror background on the side of the store give the extra space impression of the limited store's wide while in fact the frames serve as seats for the customers.

Now look at the backwall that filled with grid of lights that can change its colors. Pretty isn't it? With the right program, they can display images and logos that will attract attention.

A Taiwanese noodle restaurant, designed by Golucci International Design. The restaurant is covered with a dark color ceilings and floors and combined with a bright and natural color on some part of the walls and fixtures that bring the impression of elegant and yet cozy to the room.

An idea to make the walls more interesting by attaching hundreds of plates of various sizes with same color and pattern on it, and giving the impression of ancienity, in contrast with the modern and minimalist design concept of the tables and chairs.

Some details on the ceilings also add value as thousand needles arranged according to its flow and the use of some hanging lamps that add the impression of comfort.

Anybody wanna play dice? Fortunately the dice here is not to be played or rolled, but it does have other functions. Shoeisme, a shoe store with a concept of minimalist and flexible. This is reflected from the fixture used in the store. Dices here serve as a support for the product on display. The dices are arranged stratified. One dice makes a level of bench seating. Two dices make it a dining table height. And put it three makes it at a waist level. Simple and very flexible to display the products.

Minimalist design is also reflected in the overall interior. Layers of the plain wall. The smooth floor without any particular pattern and and open ceiling with hanging lamps.

Look at this small coffee shop. Interesting isn' it? D'Espresso, a coffee shop measuring of 39 square meters, located on 42nd Madison Avenue, New York. Taking the idea of a library, books are littered neatly on the floors, walls, even ceilings! But these are no ordinary books, but a digital printings that covered the walls and ceiling, while for the floors, it require a special mold on the tiles.

Now let's see from a different angle. Imagine the room as the left wooden wall as the floor, the books as its walls, and the white wall with lights stick out of it as a ceiling. Its just like a room turn 90 degree to the right! Isn'it a brilliant idea?

77 kids, a children's clothing store located in Cherry Hill, NJ, has the area of 5,400 square feet. The zone is divided into two parts, boy's zone and girl's. Each has its own characteristics and uniqueness. For example in the boys locker it saids "keep out" while in the girls dressing room it reads "peace".

The store commonly used natural materials. Woods for floors and fixtures and some walls, give a warm atmosphere. And some other parts of the walls use a natural stone pattern. The open ceiling is painted in black color which makes the people focust on the ground level. The materials used tend to be kid-proof, such as galvanized metal as the table top and blunted edges that aren't harmful to children.

At the shopfront, a logo of 77kids nicely placed. The logo itself resembling the character of the consumers, children, like the second 7 is not well aligned with the first one. And don't forget the cute bird that is perched on it.

M Local, subsidiary of the big supermarket Morrison opened in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. With an area of 3,000 square feet, the store is intended to cater the buyers who likely to have fresh and affordable products.

Looking from the exterior, the sign is quite communicative and simple. With dark red brick walls as the background, the green lime sign of M Local looks stands out from the background. Simple glass doors made as an entrance.

On the interior, it also shares the same simplicity. The white fixtures and floor reflect the cleanliness while some walls using the 'corporate color' of green lime. General lightnings illuminates the displayed products.

The Adidas sport corner by d4r inside JJB Sports. The design is somehow a bit different from their regular stores that tend to have black as their dominant color. Here, everything is reversed, white is the dominant color, maybe as a consideration as the brands displayed here is not only for adidas.

Curved lines shaped the fixtures. Some fixture stands out on the upper side works like a hanging ceiling for customers who want to try the product they fancy at. On the floor, pattern are made just like in the sport field, by delivering lines like a half circle on the basketball court.

Corripio, an electronics store in Santo domingo, Dominican Republic, developing its image from a warehouse distributor to a large electronics store. Simple yet grand, white and red, is how Corripio building looked from the outside.

Its high curvy ceiling with general illumination makes the whole store bright, illuminating the products displayed.

placed all over the store to descript its zone represented below, while other 'regular' signages describing its products.

Wavy hanging ceilings with white stripes are filling the exposed ceiling and give a nice accent.

E-Mart, a retail store with a superstore concept, combining three functions in its stores, pet store, retail electronic store, and a warehouse club style store.

Molly pet store, covering an area of 3,000 square foot, offering pet supplies, equipments, and services. This section also provided Molly Cafe, beauty shop, and training area. Clean and bright is the image that are displayed in stores that provide this kind of services.

The overal rack fixture that are used are simple, especially in the E-Mart Traders section that are covering 130,000 square foot, white-black color combination, bright-lime green, and natural wood, creating a cheerful atmosphere in the store. The interior shown works nicely with the fixtures. Clean walls, decorative lines, and simple words to explain the part it represents.

A slight different atmosphere found in the electronics stores segment, Matrix, covering an area of 11,000 square foot, which tend to use hot colors, like orange, black and natural, but it doesn't reduce the impression of being tidy and neat.

Museum Store in Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, designed with a concept of interactive boutiques. Tilted ceilings, folded walls, intersected planes, expanded and constricted vistas, all together forming a dynamic flow between the space and the merchandise.

Miffy Shop, located within V&D departement store in Amsterdam. Taking a concept from 'Coloring Book Village', the white fixtures are outlined with black just like sketchs from coloring books. For a glance, Fido is an out of the box for typical electronics store. While others are full with bright lights all over the store, Fido comes with different approach. The use of spotlights rather than general lightning give the merchandises a more attractive looks.

The white panels brick-like wall drawing customers to Fido phones and services, while the black color walls combined with wood flooring give the store a more classy looks. The white drop ceiling with a dark background gives a nice direction from front till end of store.

J. Lindeberg has opened a new stores in Stockholm that has a concept of "Bohemian elegance." The building reside in the most exclusive shopping district. At the shopfront, a 20-foot windows shows a vast scene inside of the two stories store.

The store has redesigned vintage fixtures. And the store concept is the contrast between traditional and unconventional, industrial and refined, according to the Swedish architect Albert France-Lanord. White is the dominant color of the store, while other colors like black and natural wooden pattern give strong accents over the white.

A Matter of Health, located in Kings Point, Nanuet, New York, is a new concept of supermarket by DY Design, to bring handy spaces to the store while leaving the old warehouse-style design. The antique-style street lamps and high black open ceiling with skylights are bringing the atmosphere of shopping on an outdoor market.

The fixtures are arranged diagonally, which make the flow more dynamic and enjoyable for the customers.

The office, produce prep, extra stock, refrigeration equipment and cafe for customers are designed on the second floor. The old style are placed in second floor, with arch-framed Salvo Caramagno artwork blending with the whole country style design.
